Planning your wedding day is a key step in your growth together as a couple. Many couples experience a sea of emotions when it comes to putting their big day together. Excitement, fun, nervousness, anticipation, stress, worry, and elation to name (just) a few!

While there is much advice to be found when it comes to planning your wedding, today we suggest one key planning step in the process:
1) First and foremost- sit down together and have a very real conversation
about how you both envision your wedding day.

Often couples have differing opinions as to what they expect their wedding day to be. You may start talking and realize you two are really on the same page (how cool is that??), but you may also find that your partner-to-be prefers a destination experience while you were hoping for a home-based celebration. Prior to choosing your colors, flowers, or cake flavors, make sure to take time to talk your ideas through so you can be on the same planning-page together. Accept your differences, compromise on the big (and small) decisions, and itemize the importance of the various aspects of your wedding day. Then, write out your agreed upon wedding day road map, hold hands, and jump on in! Once you've agreed to the key pieces of your day, choosing all the details becomes easy. Plus, you've immediately empowered yourselves to graciously decline helpful suggestions from family and friends that simply don't fit your vision.
Partnering in this process together will make your actual wedding day all that much more enjoyable once the day arrives. It also helps to show just what the two of you can accomplish when you put your minds together, and that's a sweet thing.
Cheers to your wedding planning success!
